Gone Like the Wind written by Buzz Bissinger is featured in Vanity Fair.  Its a wonderful article that follows the story of Barbaro.  With the  excitement of the Kentucky Derby betting it was heartbreaking to hear about the tragedy of Eight Belles that followed.

Hi, I am an RN by profession and have encountered difficulty with a sarcoid on upper leg of my Bel/Qtr cross. After a literature review of my own r/t to sarcoids I decided to try a product a friend of mine has on the market. It's a homeopathic herpes cold sore cream. In the clinical trials that were done on humans for this product it was very effective. The product is Novitra and is sold over the counter in local stores like CVS. I used a coating of the cream 1-2x/day, plus I gave high-dose Vit C supplement to boost immune system. Approx. 3-4 weeks I saw new pink growth sarting at the outer edges of the sarcoid, about 8wks it was gone completely and the hair was growing back. It's almost a year now & there's no sarcoid regrowth. I would like to connect with a few vets who are interested in trialing the product for sarcoids. Novitra is currently only being produced for human use but if we could prove it's effectiveness we can then look at it being produced for vetrinary use in larger volume for improved cost.
